National Taiwan University (Taiwan) and Kyushu University (Japan) have established an official partnership since May 1, 2001, including activities on the academic research collaborations, agreement on student exchange program, and double degree programs, cementing a close friendship between the two universities.
The 1st NTU-Kyushu Colloquium was held in Kyushu University during December 16–17, 2019. With regards to the global outbreak of COVID-19, the 2nd Kyushu-NTU Colloquium to be held in National Taiwan University will now be conducted through video conferencing on June 15, 2020, with a plenary session focusing on “Distance Instruction and e-Learning” and “Telehealth and Telecare.” Concerning the consequential cancellation of student exchange programs worldwide, the 2nd Kyushu-NTU Colloquium features a student forum that encourages participants to stay connected and maintain a global perspective while physically in a distance.
Academic sub-disciplines for this Colloquium include forestry, university museum, Japanese linguistics and literature, cultural heritage, sociocultural studies in Taiwan and Japan, urban planning, distance learning, emergency and critical care, organic electronics, economic and environmental geology, marine ecology, and physical oceanography. We hope that the two universities can work together to enhance the quality of academic research and make substantial contribution to the world.
